Juan's Success Story

Juan, a resident of Madera, California had dreamed of becoming a bus driver since childhood. One day, a friend told him about the School Bus Driver Training Program offered through the Workforce Assistance Center.

At the time, Juan didn’t even know what the workforce was. He faced challenges before starting due to medical reasons, he didn’t have a driver’s license.

Once his doctor cleared him, he immediately applied for the program.

When Juan joined, the class had already begun, and he was two days behind. Despite the setback, he refused to give up. He worked hard, stayed focused, and pushed himself to catch up. Juan completed the program with the highest grades and achieved his lifelong dream. He is now proudly employed as a bus driver with the Golden Valley School District, earning $29 per hour.

Juan is deeply grateful to the Workforce Assistance Center for giving him the opportunity to reach his goal. Looking ahead, he hopes to one day return as an instructor to help others follow their dreams.

His story is a testament that with determination and persistence, anything is possible.
